Tiger - Put Tiger in Your Tank

Tiger is the newest release from HSR Seeds and is the first grain sorghum purpose bred for Ethanol production in Australia.

Tiger is a medium maturity, medium tillering variety that has consistently outperformed other competitor hybrids since commencing its first major farmer trialing in 2005/06 season.

Tiger has an exceptionally large grain size, with high hectolitre weights and high starch levels.

Tiger has proven to be highly adaptable, achieving trial topping results at lower yielding sites, but also has achieved over 10MT/Ha dry land.

Tiger has excellent stand ability and is Midge Tested 3.

Tiger also suits the early plant with good cold start characteristics.

In NSW Ag independent trials in 2005/06 Tiger came in second overall out of all varieties entered. Tiger outperformed MR Buster on average overall yield across the six trials, and outperformed MR Buster in three out of the six trials. It outperformed MR43, Bonus MR, Pacer and MR32 in four out of the six trials. In four HSR Seeds farmer trials Tiger has outperformed MR Buster in every trial.

With or without an ethanol industry Tiger is a great sorghum in its own right, with excellent agronomic characteristics that has now made it the new variety to beat in the Australian market.
